Selector Lever Knob: Removal

Vehicles equipped with a 2.5L engine 

  1. Remove the selector lever trim ring.

  2. Remove the center console trim panel.

  3. Disconnect the Transmission Control Switch (TCS) electrical connector.

    All vehicles 

  4. Slide the selector lever knob bezel downward to gain access to the 2 selector lever knob screws.
    NOTE: Fusion/Milan shown in illustration, MKZ similar.

  5. Remove the 2 screws from the selector lever knob. Remove the selector lever knob and selector lever knob bezel.
    NOTE: For vehicles equipped with a 2.5L engine, it is necessary to route the Transmission Control Switch (TCS) harness out of the selector lever bezel when removing the selector lever knob.
