Removal and Installation

- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the splash shield.
- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Draining .
- Detach the lower radiator hose pin-type retainer from the RH side of the cooling fan motor and shroud.
- Detach the lower radiator hose from the LH side of the cooling fan motor and shroud.
- Detach the transmission cooler tube retaining clips from the cooling fan motor and shroud.
- Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) and inlet air resonator. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- If equipped, detach the 2 block heater wiring retainers from the cooling fan motor and shroud.
- Disconnect the 3 cooling fan module electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolt and the cooling fan module.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Detach the 5 pin-type retainers from the cooling fan and shroud.
- Detach the wiring harness pin-type retainer from the frame rail.
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
- Release the 2 tabs and remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
