Oil Pump: Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft front oil seal. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT FRONT SEAL .
  2. Remove the bolts and the gerotor cover. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  3. NOTE: Mark the front of the inner and outer gerotor for correct reassembly.

  4. Remove the inner and outer gerotors.
  5. Inspect the oil pump components and install new components as necessary.
    1. Inspect the oil pump for excessive metal particles.
    2. Inspect the oil pump for gouging, cracks or deep scratches.
    3. Inspect the oil pump inner and outer gear rotors for damage or excessive wear.
