Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

    All vehicles 

    CAUTION: To prevent engine damage, you must always install 4 new bolts when installing the vibration damper.
    NOTE: Do not use anti-seize compounds, grease or any lubricants. Lubricants have an adverse effect on the torque results.
    NOTE: To prevent the crankshaft vibration damper from turning during tightening, install 2 bolts in the outer crankshaft vibration damper bolt holes and hold with a pry bar.
  1. Install the crankshaft vibration damper and bolts.
    • Tighten in the sequence shown.
    • Tighten to 68 Nm (50 lb-ft).
    • Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

  2. Install the accessory drive belt.

  3. Vehicles with dual generator 

  4. Install the dual generator pulley and bolts.

  5. Install the dual generator accessory drive belt.

  6. All vehicles 

  7. Install the cooling fan stator - 6.0L diesel engine. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  8. Connect the LH and RH battery ground cables.
