Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
  3. Disconnect the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) actuator electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 3 bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  5. Disconnect the IMRC rod pivot pin from the intake manifold rod and remove the IMRC.
    • Lubricate the IMRC rod pivot pin with clean engine oil prior to installation.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
