Oil Pump: Removal

- With the engine in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to Removal .
- Drain the engine oil, then install the drain plug.
- To install, tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
- Remove the 4 oil pan-to-bellhousing bolts.
- Remove the 13 bolts and the oil pan.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.NOTE: Discard the gasket and clean and inspect the gasket mating surfaces.
- Remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner.
- Release the tension on the tensioner spring.
- Remove the 2 shoulder bolts and the tensioner.
- Remove the chain from the oil pump sprocket.
- Remove the bolt and oil pump sprocket.
- Remove the 4 bolts and the oil pump.
