DTC P0087: Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low

DTC P0087: FUEL RAIL/SYSTEM PRESSURE - TOO LOW

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) regulates the fuel rail pressure by controlling the fuel volume regulator. When the PCM is no longer capable of maintaining the fuel pressure within the calibrated parameters, the DTC is set.
Possible Causes: 
  • Fuel filter plugged or dirty
  • Fuel supply line restricted
  • Damaged fuel pump module
  • Damaged fuel injection pump
Diagnostic Aids:  Diagnose any FRP and FVR circuit DTCs first.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
