P2803 - Transmission Range Sensor B Circuit High

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Mercury Mariner and 2010 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P2803 - TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR B CIRCUIT HIGH

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) checks the gear selector position by monitoring two independent voltage signals from the transmission range (TR) sensor. The TR voltages are then compared to an allowed voltage range for each gear. The test fails when the compared voltages are out of range. This DTC indicates that one TR signal is high.
Possible Causes:
  • TR circuit shorted to voltage or VREF
  • Damaged TR sensor
