Cylinder Head: Disassembly

Install the commercially available valve spring compressor.

NOTE: If necessary, strike the valve stem end with a plastic-tipped hammer to loosen the valve spring retainer keys.

Remove the valve spring retainer keys.
1. Remove the valve spring retainer keys.
2. Remove the commercially available valve spring compressor.

Remove the valve spring rotator.

Remove the valve spring.

NOTE: It may be necessary to file the tip of the valve to aid in removal of the valve from the cylinder head.

Remove the valve.

Remove the valve stem seal.

Clean and inspect the valves, valve guides and seats. Replace components that are damaged or out of specification.
