Exhaust Manifold - LH: Removal

All engines

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.

4.6L (2V) engine

Disconnect the upper and lower fitting and remove the EGR system module-to-exhaust manifold tube.

All engines

Remove the 2 RH and 2 LH exhaust Y-pipe flange nuts.

Remove the 8 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
- Discard the 8 exhaust manifold nuts.
Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Clean the sealing surfaces with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
Remove and discard the 8 exhaust manifold-to-cylinder head studs.
Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
