Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the radiator. For additional information, refer to Radiator - 6.0L Diesel .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector. Release the wiring from the stator.

    NOTE: Fan removed from art for clarity.
  4. Remove the 4 cooling fan stator bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

    NOTE: Use a hole in the fan hub to prevent the fan from turning.

  6. Using the Fan Clutch Nut Wrench, loosen the fan clutch by turning the wrench counterclockwise. Remove the cooling fan, clutch and stator.
    • To install, tighten to 180 Nm (133 lb-ft).

  8. If servicing the fan blade assembly or clutch, remove the 6 bolts and separate the cooling fan from the clutch.
    • To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
