Pinpoint Test C: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - RH

  1. C1 CHECK CIRCUIT 170 (RD/LB) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: RH Front Window Control Switch C629
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between RH front door window control switch C629-5, circuit 170 (RD/LB) harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  C2.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. C2 CHECK CIRCUITS 313 (WH/YE) AND 314 (TN/LB) FOR CONTINUITY TO GROUND 
    • Key in OFF position.

    • Measure the resistance between RH front window control switch C629-2, circuit 313 (WH/YE), harness side and ground; and between RH front window control switch C629-7, circuit 314 (TN/LB), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements? 
    1. YES  : Go to  C5.
    2. NO  : Go to  C3.
  3. C3 CHECK CIRCUITS 313 (WH/YE) AND 314 (TN/LB) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C508

    • Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C508-1, circuit 313 (WH/YE), harness side and RH front window control switch C629-2, circuit 313 (WH/YE), harness side; and between LH front window control switch C508-7, circuit 314 (TN/LB), harness side and RH front window control switch C629-7, circuit 314 (TN/LB), harness side.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements? 
    1. YES  : Go to  C4.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. C4 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.

    • Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C508-2, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground; and between C508-6, circuits 57 (BK) and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. C5 CHECK THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Key in ON position.

    • Connect a fused jumper between RH front window control switch C629-5, circuit 170 (RD/LB), harness side and RH front window control switch C629-8, circuit 334 (RD/YE), harness side; and between RH front window control switch C629-1, circuit 333 (YE/RD), harness side and RH front window control switch C629-2, circuit 313 (WH/YE), harness side. The window should move up.

    • Connect a fused jumper between RH front window control switch C629-5, circuit 170 (RD/LB), harness side and RH front window control switch C629-1, circuit 333 (YE/RD), harness side; and between RH front window control switch C629-8, circuit 334 (RD/YE), harness side and RH front window control switch C629-7, circuit 314 (TN/LB), harness side. The window should move down.
    • Did the window open and close? 
    1. YES  : If the RH front window did not operate with the RH front window controls, INSTALL a new RH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. If the RH front power window did operate with the RH front window control switch but not with the LH front window control switch, go to  C6.
    3. NO  : Go to  C7.
  6. C6 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C508
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C508-3, circuit 170 (RD/LB) and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  7. C7 CHECK CIRCUITS 333 (YE/RD) AND 334 (RD/YE) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: RH Front Window Regulator Motor C608

    • Measure the resistance between RH front window control switch C629-1, circuit 333 (YE/RD), harness side and RH front window regulator motor C608-2, circuit 333 (YE/RD), harness side; and between RH front window control switch C629-8, circuit 334 (RD/YE), harness side and RH front window regulator motor C608-1, circuit 334 (RD/YE), harness side
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new window regulator motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
