Pinpoint Test B: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - LH

  1. B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 170 (RD/LB) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Regulator Control Switch C508
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C508-11, circuit 170 (RD/LB) harness side and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B2.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. B2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.

    • Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch connector C508-10, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground; and between LH front window control switch connector C508-14, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : Go to  B3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. B3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Key in ON position.

    • Connect a fused jumper between LH front window control switch C508-11, circuit 170 (RD/LB), harness side and LH front window control switch C508-15, circuit 226 (WH/BK), harness side; and between LH front window control switch C508-9, circuit 227 (YE), harness side and LH front window control switch C508-10, circuit 57 (BK), harness side. The window should move up.

    • Connect a fused jumper between LH front window control switch C508-11, circuit 170 (RD/LB), harness side and LH front window control switch C508-9, circuit 227 (YE), harness side; and between LH front window control switch C508-15, circuit 226 (WH/BK), harness side and LH front window control switch C508-14, circuit 57 (BK), harness side. The window should move down.
    • Did the window open and close? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Go to  B4.
  4. B4 CHECK CIRCUITS 226 (WH/BK) AND 227 (YE) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: LH Window Regulator Motor C524
    • Key in OFF position.

    • Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C508-9, circuit 227 (YE), harness side and LH window regulator motor C524-1, circuit 227 (YE), harness side; and between LH front window control switch C508-15, circuit 226 (WH/BK), harness side and LH window regulator motor C524-2, circuit 226 (WH/BK), harness side.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new window regulator motor. REFER to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
