Pinpoint Test A: All Power Windows Are Inoperative

  1. A1 CHECK CIRCUIT 170 (RD/LB) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C508
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C508-3, circuit 170 (RD/LB) harness side and ground; and between LH front window control switch C508-11, circuit 170 (RD/LB) harness side and ground.
    • Were both voltage measurements greater than 10 volts? 
    1. YES  : Go to  A3.
    2. NO  : VERIFY CJB circuit breaker 42 (20A) is OK. If OK, go to  A2.
  2. A2 CHECK CIRCUIT 170 (RD/LB) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: CJB Circuit Breaker 42 (20A)

    • Measure the resistance between CJB circuit breaker 42 (20A), circuit 170 (RD/LB), harness side and LH front window control switch C508-3, circuit 170 (RD/LB) harness side; and between CJB circuit breaker 42 (20A), circuit 170 (RD/LB), harness side and LH front window control switch C508-11, circuit 170 (RD/LB) harness side.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms for both measurements? 
    1. YES  : Go to Pinpoint Test D  to diagnose the accessory relay circuit.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. A3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT 
    • Key in OFF position.

    • Using the following table, measure the resistance between the LH front window control switch C508, harness side and ground:
      LH Front Window Control Switch C508 Ground
      C508-2, circuit 57 (BK) ground
      C508-6, circuit 57 (BK) ground
      C508-10, circuit 57 (BK) ground
      C508-14, circuit 57 (BK) ground
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
