Exhaust Downpipe - 6.0L Diesel: Removal

NOTE:
Exhaust fasteners are of a torque prevailing design. Use only new fasteners with the same part number as the original. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of exhaust components.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the transmission fluid indicator. Remove the retaining nut and position the transmission fluid tube off the stud.
- Separate the transmission fluid tube and position aside.
- Remove the transmission crossmember. For additional information, refer to FULL FRAME AND BODY MOUNTING .
- Disconnect the exhaust down pipe-to-turbo charger clamp.
- Disconnect the exhaust down pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts and remove the exhaust downpipe.
