P1703 - Brake Switch Out Of Self-Test Range

P1703 - BRAKE SWITCH OUT OF SELF-TEST RANGE

Description:  Indicates that during KOEO self-test, the BPP signal was high, or during KOER self-test, the BPP signal did not cycle high and low.
Possible Causes: 
  • Open or short in the BPP circuit
  • Open or short in the stoplamp circuits
  • Concern in module(s) connected to the BPP circuit
  • Damaged brake switch
  • Misadjusted brake switch
Diagnostic Aids:  Check for proper function of the stoplamps. Follow the correct self-test procedures. Refer toQUICK TEST DESCRIPTION .
