Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Heater Element - 5.4L: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) heater element electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the quick connect couplings and remove the PCV tube. For additional information refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION - GASOLINE AND DIESEL article.
  4. Remove the bolts and the PCV heater element.
    • Discard the O-ring seal.
