Fuel Pressure Relief
WARNING:
Contact with alcohol fuel (gasoline containing methanol or ethanol) MUST be avoided. Permanent injury or death can result. Use protective clothing and equipment when handling fuel. Fuel supply lines on fuel injected engines remain pressurized for long periods of time after engine shutdown. System pressure MUST be relieved prior to fuel system service to prevent possible injury.
CAUTION:
DO NOT use MFI Fuel Pressure Gauge (T80L-9974-B) on flex fuel vehicles, or damage to gauge will occur.
Remove air cleaner. Unscrew and remove fuel pressure relief valve cap on fuel supply manifold. On gasoline vehicles, connect Fuel Pressure Gauge (T80L-9974-B) and on flex fuel vehicles, connect Rotunda Fuel (Methanol/Ethanol) Pressure Test Kit (134-R0087) to fuel pressure relief valve. Open manual valve on fuel pressure gauge or pressure test kit to relieve fuel system pressure.
