Wheel Studs: Installation

  1. Position a new wheel stud, aligning the serrations in the wheel hub made by the original stud.
  2. Place 4 washers over the outside end of the wheel stud and thread a standard wheel nut with the flat side against the washers. Tighten the wheel nut until the wheel stud seats against the back side of the wheel extension.

  4. Remove the wheel nut and washers.
  5. NOTE: Be sure to align index marks made during the removal step.
  6. Install the brake disc.
  7. Position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly and install the 2 anchor plate bolts.
    • F-250 and F-350, tighten to 225 Nm (166 lb-ft).
    • F-450 and F-550, tighten to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).
