Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - F-250, F-350: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts and position the caliper assembly aside.
- Support the caliper assembly using mechanic's wire.
- Remove the grease cap from the hub assembly.
- Remove the cotter pin, wheel hub nut retainer, nut and flat washer.
- Discard the wheel hub nut.
- Remove the outer wheel bearing assembly, then remove the hub and brake disc assembly.
- Using a suitable slide hammer and bearing seal remover, remove the inner wheel bearing seal and bearing.
CAUTION:
Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
NOTE:
Inspect the condition of the wheel spindle and threads, clean or replace as necessary.

Do not damage the wheel bearing cage while removing.
