Test R: Traction Control Indicator Is Never/Always On

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If traction control indicator is never illuminated, go to next step. If traction control indicator is always illuminated, repair traction control system as necessary. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select instrument cluster active command TRACOFF. Trigger TRACOFF active command on. If traction control indicator illuminates, repair traction control system as necessary. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES. If traction control indicator does not illuminate, replace bulb or instrument cluster as necessary.
