Engine Mount - LH

    All vehicles 

  1. Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  2. Disconnect the LH and RH battery ground cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Loosen the clamp at the charge-air-cooler (CAC).
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

  4. NOTE: If there is any oil residue, clean both connecting ports and the inside surface of the CAC duct to prevent the duct from blowing off.
  5. Loosen the clamp at the turbocharger and remove the CAC duct.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

  6. NOTE: If there is any oil residue, clean both connecting ports and the inside surface of the CAC duct to prevent the duct from blowing off.
  7. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the CAC duct at the engine.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

  8. Loosen the clamp and remove the CAC duct.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

  9. NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
  10. Remove the 4 RH and the 4 LH motor mount nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

  11. Vehicles with dual generator 

  12. Remove the accessory drive belt.

  13. Remove the bolt and the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  14. Remove the accessory drive belt.

  15. Remove the bolts, bracket and the accessory drive belt idler pulley.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  16. Remove the bolts and the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  17. Disconnect the wire retainer, generator electrical connector and B+ wire.
    • To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

  18. Remove the bolts and generator with mounting bracket.
    • To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  19. Vehicles with single generator 

  20. Remove the primary accessory drive belt.

  21. Remove the bolts and the accessory drive belt tensioner.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  22. All vehicles 

  23. Remove the bolts and position the generator back.
    • To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  24. Support the hood and disconnect the hood lift assemblies.

  25. Install 2 lifting eyes on the RH cylinder head.

  26. Remove the retaining bolts for the fuel lines.

  27. Disconnect the heater hose at the front cover.

  28. Install one lifting eye on the LH cylinder head.

  29. CAUTION: Do not use the special tool to raise the engine. Damage to the special tool or vehicle may occur.
    NOTE: The ball studs may have to be removed.
    NOTE: This procedure requires a second bolt hook assembly. The tools are available through Rotunda Tools with the following numbers: bolt hook 303-F070-6, handle 303-F070-8, bracket 303-F070-7 and washer 303-F070-12004.

  30. Install the special tool.
  31. NOTE: The engine must be raised evenly.
  32. Using a lifting crane, raise the engine until the turbocharger is almost touching the cowl. Secure the engine with the special tool.
  33. Remove the 4 engine mount-to-engine mount bracket bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 62 Nm (46 lb-ft).
  34. Remove the 4 engine mount bracket-to-cylinder block bolts, the engine mount bracket and the engine mount.
    • To install, tighten to 62 Nm (46 lb-ft).
  35. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
