Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove front seat. See FRONT SEAT . Make note of wiring harness routing and detach harness from seat cushion. Remove mounting bolt and seat belt pretensioner.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure harness is correctly routed. See Fig 1. Tighten seat belt pretensioner mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Ensure air bag system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
