Test A: No Communication With EATC Module

  1. Check Black Wire Circuit For Open

    Disconnect EATC module connector C280. With an ohmmeter, measure resistance of Black wire between EATC module connector C280 and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire and retest system.

  2. Check Red/White Wire Circuit For Battery Voltage

    With a voltmeter, measure voltage of Red/White wire between EATC module connector C280 and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Red/White wire and retest system.

  3. Check White/Purple Wire Circuit For Battery Voltage

    Turn ignition to run position (engine off). With a voltmeter, measure voltage of White/Purple wire between EATC module connector C280 and ground. If voltage is same as battery voltage, go to appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If voltage is less than battery voltage, repair open in Purple/Brown wire and retest system.
