Test V: Speed Control Indicator Is Never On
- Test drive vehicle and operate speed control system. If speed control operates correctly, go to next step. If speed control does not operate correctly, repair as necessary. See appropriate CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS article under ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT to diagnose.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect speed control servo 10-pin connector and instrument cluster 20-pin connector. Measure resistance of Orange/Light Blue wire between instrument panel 20-pin connector terminal No. 14 and speed control servo 10-pin connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange/Light Blue wire.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors. Inspect connectors for corrosion and pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system and verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
