Test S: Turn/Hazard Indicator Inoperative Or Always On
NOTE:
After repair, clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate both turn signals and hazard lights. If turn signals and hazard lights operate correctly, go to next step. If turn signals and hazard lights do not operate correctly, repair as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS. For turn signal switch testing, see appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. For right hand indicator, disconnect instrument panel 20-pin connector. For left hand indicator, disconnect 22-pin connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between instrument panel 20-pin connector terminal No. 7 (White/Light Blue wire) and ground while multifunction switch is moved to right turn position. Measure voltage between instrument panel 22-pin connector terminal No. 4 (Light Green/White wire) and ground while multifunction switch is moved to left turn position. See Figure and Figure . Voltage should fluctuate between 0 volts with turn signal off and 12 volts with turn signal on. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair White/Light Blue or Light Green/White wire as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors. Inspect connectors for corrosion and pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system and verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
