Test O: High Beam Indicator Inoperative Or Always On

NOTE: After repair, clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate high beams. If high beams operate correctly, go to next step. If high beams do not operate correctly, repair as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument panel 20-pin connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between instrument panel 20-pin connector terminal No. 12 and ground while turning high beams on and off. See Figure. Voltage should be 0 volts with high beams off and more than 10 volts with high beams on. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair open in Gray/White wire.
  3. Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors. Inspect connectors for corrosion and pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system and verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
