Test A: No Communication With Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC)
NOTE:
After repair, clear DTCs and repeat self-test.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster 20-pin connector. Measure voltage between instrument cluster 20-pin connector terminal No. 10 (Red/White wire) and ground. See Fig 1. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/White wire.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between instrument cluster 20-pin connector terminal No. 11 (Gray/Yellow wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Gray/Yellow wire.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between instrument cluster 20-pin connector terminal No. 2 (Red/Light Green wire) and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/Light Green wire.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between instrument cluster 20-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Black ground wire. Ground point is located behind right kick panel.
- Disconnect instrument cluster 22-pin connector. Measure resistance between instrument cluster 22-pin connector terminal No. 17 (Pink/Orange wire) and ground. See Fig 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, see appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to diagnose concern. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Orange wire. Ground point is located behind left kick panel.
