Test C: Warning Indicator Is On With Engine Running, System Is Charging

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect generator 3-pin connector. Turn ignition on and observe warning indicator. If warning indicator illuminates, repair open in Light Green/Red wire between generator and instrument panel. If warning indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. With engine running at 2000 RPM, measure voltage between generator 1-pin connector terminal "S" (White/Black wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage is 5 volts or greater, replace voltage regulator. See VOLTAGE REGULATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is less than 5 volts, replace generator. See GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
