Test K: Yellow Brake (Abs) Warning Indicator Light Never On

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect anti-lock brake system module connector C1040a. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 1 (Dark Green wire) at anti-lock brake system module connector C1040a. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If anti-lock brake system warning light does not illuminate, go to next step. If anti-lock brake system warning light illuminates, diagnose anti-lock brake system. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove Yellow anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light bulb. Check bulb for continuity. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is not okay, replace bulb.
  3. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C250c. See Fig 1. Measure resistance between terminal No. 11 (Dark Green wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C250c and terminal No. 1 (Dark Green wire) at anti-lock brake system module harness connector C1040a. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace instrument cluster. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green wire.
