Test Ab: Incorrect Fuel Gauge Reading In Gasoline Mode (Bi-Fuel Only)

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect alternative fuel intercept harness connector C4302 and fuel pump module connector C1045. Connect gasoline fuel pump module C1045 to harness connector C4302. Toggle alternative fuel mode select switch to gasoline mode. If fuel gauge functions correctly, go to next step. If fuel gauge does not function correctly, repair circuit wiring and retest.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect compuvalve connector C4025. Measure resistance between terminal No. 42 (White wire) at compuvalve harness connector C4025 and terminal No. 4 (Dark Blue wire) at fuel pump intercept harness connector C1045. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 42 (White wire) at compuvalve harness connector C4025. See Figure. If resistance is 5 ohms or less between compuvalve and fuel pump intercept harness and more than 10 k/ohms between compuvalve and ground, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms between compuvalve and fuel pump intercept harness and less than 10 k/ohms between compuvalve and ground, replace compuvalve. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - CNG/LPG article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  3. Turn ignition switch to START position. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 42 (White wire) at compuvalve harness connector C4025. See Figure. If battery voltage is present, repair short to power in White wire and retest. If battery voltage is not present, replace compuvalve.
