Removal (Front)
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove tire and wheel assembly. Remove front hubs and axles. See HUB & BEARING .
- Remove front stabilizer bar to axle housing bolts. Disconnect steering damper from axle housing (if equipped). Disconnect steering linkage at steering knuckles, and position aside. Mark drive shaft position for installation reference. Disconnect front drive shaft at front pinion yoke, and wire shaft to frame. Disconnect axle housing vent tube, and plug opening.
- Support axle housing with floor jack. Slightly lower vehicle (load suspension) enough to relieve tension on trackbar. Disconnect trackbar at axle housing and position aside. Slightly raise vehicle to take load off of suspension. Remove spring "U" bolt nuts, and remove "U" bolts. Carefully lower and remove axle housing assembly from vehicle.
