Removal (Rear Cable & Conduit)
- Relieve the tension on the parking brake system.
- Pull the front parking brake cable and conduit (2853)
- Insert a 4 mm (5/32-inch) drill bit or equivalent retainer.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
- Disconnect the parking brake intermediate cable from the LH parking brake rear cable and conduit (2A635).
- Separate the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit from the LH parking brake rear cable and conduit at the parking brake cable equalizer (2A602).
- Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake cable bracket (2530).
- Compress the parking brake cable clip.
- Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake cable bracket.
- Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit to LH parking brake rear cable and conduit clip.
- Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit from the rear parking brake cable retainer (2A709).
- Remove the RH parking brake rear cable and conduit to the RH hydraulic brake line clip.
- Remove the parking brake cable retainer clip (2A826).
- Remove the parking brake cable retainer clip bolt.
- Remove the parking brake cable retainer clip.
- Unclip the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the brake line clip on top of the rear axle housing.
- Compress the retainer and release the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate (2C220).
- Unclip the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake lever (2A637).
NOTE:
Make sure the parking brake control (2780) is fully released.
WARNING:
The electrical power to the air suspension system must be shut off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle. This can be accomplished by turning off the air suspension switch located in rear jack storage area. Failure to do so can result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which can result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.
NOTE:
Disconnect the parking brake intermediate cable (2A620) from the locating hole end of the connector
