Test D: Right Front Window Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right front window switch harness connector C604. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. On Crew Cab and Excursion models, measure voltage between right front window switch harness connector C604 terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Light Green wire) and ground. On Regular and Super Cab models, measure voltage between right front window switch harness connector C604 terminal No. 4 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open or short in Yellow/Light Green wire (Crew Cab and Excursion models) or Light Blue/Black wire (Regular and Super Cab models) and retest system operation.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between right front window switch harness connector C604 terminal No. 2 (White/Yellow wire) and ground. Measure resistance between right front window switch harness connector C604 terminal No. 7 (Tan/Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistances are greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Yellow and/or Tan/Light Blue wire and retest system operation.
  3. Test right front window switch. See SINGLE SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If right front window switch is okay, go to next step. If right front window switch is not okay, replace right front window switch and retest system operation.
  4. Disconnect right front window motor 2-pin harness connector. Measure resistance in Yellow/Red wire between right front window switch harness connector C604 terminal No. 6 and right front window motor 2-pin harness connector. Measure resistance in Red/Yellow wire between right front window switch harness connector C604 terminal No. 3 and right front window motor 2-pin harness connector. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, replace right front window motor and retest system operation. If resistances are greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow/Red and/or Red/Yellow wire and retest system operation.
