Drive Shaft Angle: Econoline

  1. Measure ride height. See RIDE HEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS  table. Vehicle must be at curb weight (unloaded) condition. Check and note frame angle. See FRAME ANGLE . Place Anglemaster II Driveline Inclinometer (164-R2402) or protractor at any location along bottom of drive shaft. See Fig 1.
  2. Read and record angle. Subtract frame angle to obtain drive shaft angle. Compare noted angle with Empty Angle Degree specification. See appropriate illustration under DRIVELINE ANGLE SPECIFICATIONS . If drive shaft angle is not as specified, check pinion angle. See PINION ANGLE .
