Horn Relay

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove horn relay from junction box/fuse relay panel, located behind access panel to left of steering column. Measure continuity between horn relay terminal No. 85 and all other terminals. See Fig 1. Resistance between terminal No. 85 and all other terminals should be greater than 5 ohms.
  2. Using 2 jumper wires, connect horn relay terminals No. 30 and No. 86 directly to positive battery terminal. See Fig 1. If battery voltage is present at terminal No. 87A, connect another jumper wire between horn relay terminal No. 85 and good ground point. Battery voltage should now be present at terminal No. 87.
  3. If relay tests as indicated, horn relay is okay, check junction box/fuse relay panel. If relay does not test as indicated, replace horn relay.
