Test F: No Communication With Gem Module

  1. Check Central Junction Box For Open

    Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect GEM connector C240D (18-pin) located in central junction box, at lower left side of instrument panel. Measure voltage between ground and GEM connector terminal No. 4, and then terminal No. 16. See Figure. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair internal circuit as necessary.

  2. Check Circuit 676 (Pink/Orange Wire) For Open

    Turn ignition off. Disconnect GEM connector C240A (26-pin). Measure resistance between ground and Pink/Orange wire at terminal No. 26 of connector C240A. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, see appropriate MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Orange wire. Clear DTCs and retest system.
