Transmission Drive Cycle Test
NOTE:
Transmission drive cycle test must be followed exactly. Malfunctions have to occur 4 times consecutively for continuous memory codes P0731, P0732, P0733 and P0734 to set, and 5 times consecutively for continuous memory codes P0741 and P1741 to set.
- After repairing any engine performance related DTCs, erase remaining transmission-related DTCs. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Ensure transmission fluid level is correct. Shift transmission to "D" position. Come to a full stop. Press TCS on shifter handle. O/D OFF light should illuminate.
- Accelerate from stop to 40 MPH. Hold speed for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.). Decelerate and bring vehicle to a full stop. Press TCS and accelerate to 50 MPH. Hold speed and throttle position steady for at least 15 seconds (30 seconds above 4000 ft.).
- While maintaining speed with transmission in 4th gear, lightly depress brake pedal and release (to operate brakelights). Hold speed for at least an additional 5 seconds. Bring vehicle to stop for at least 20 seconds with transmission in drive "D" position. Repeat all steps at least 5 times. Perform QUICK TEST and record continuous memory codes.
