Test H: DTC C1145 - Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor (Electrical/Static): Testing

NOTE: If no problems are found while testing sensor and circuits, check for intermittent conditions. See INTERMITTENT FAILURES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect NGS tester or scan tool. Clear all DTCs. Drive vehicle at least 10 MPH. Retrieve DTCs. If DTC C1145 is set, go to next step. If no DTC is retrieved, go to step  6. If a different DTC is retrieved, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  table.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABCM connector. Install breakout box. Measure resistance between breakout box pins No. 10 and 22 (except late production Excursion), or No. 5 and 13 (late production Excursion). If resistance is 2000-4000 ohms (2WD), or 300-500 ohms (4WD), go to step  4. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RF ABS sensor. Check resistance between sensor terminals. If resistance is 2000-4000 ohms (2WD), or 300-500 ohms (4WD) repair Yellow/Red and Yellow/Black wire circuit between sensor connector and ABCM connector. Clear DTCs and road test vehicle on rough roads and through car wash. Recheck system operation. If resistance is not within range, install a new RF ABS sensor. Clear DTCs and road test vehicle on rough roads and through car wash. Recheck system operation.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RF ABS sensor connector. Install breakout box. Check resistance between ground and breakout box pins No. 10 and 22 (except late production Excursion), or No. 5 and 13 (late production Excursion). If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to step  6. Clear DTCs and road test vehicle on rough roads and through car wash. Recheck system operation. If resistance is not within range, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RF ABS sensor connector. Measure resistance between RF ABS sensor terminals and ground. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, repair harness Yellow/Red and Yellow/Black wire circuit(s) between sensor and ABCM. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, install a new RF ABS sensor.
  6. Conduct intermittent sensor failure checks. See INTERMITTENT FAILURES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
