Test D: Warning Indicator Is Off With Ignition On And Engine Is Off

Turn ignition on. Disconnect generator 3-pin connector. Connect a fused (15-amp) jumper wire between generator connector terminal "I" and ground. See Figure. If warning indicator is on, replace voltage regulator. See VOLTAGE REGULATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If warning indicator is not on, see appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article.
