Removal & Installation (Front Cable & Conduit)
- Pull out on the bottom of the parking brake control boot to disengage it from the plastic retainer. If necessary, pull the control handle upward.
- Using a small screwdriver, carefully lift the retainer tab and slide the boot upward.
- Using a screwdriver, push down on the tension arm until it is fully depressed. See Figure.
- Lock down the tension arm with a pin or screwdriver. See Figure.
- Remove the cable anchor pin. See Figure.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Disconnect the rear parking brake cables. See Fig 1.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Snap the front cable grommet out of the floor and remove the cable. See Fig 2.
- To install, reverse removal procedures.
CAUTION:
The control boot is held in position by a small plastic retaining tab that engages a notch in the control handle. See Figure. Failure to use care when removing the boot can result in damage to the tab and unnecessary replacement of the boot.
