Test AF: Fuel Tank Temperature Sensor Circuit Short To Ground (DTC B1225)
- Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, monitor Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) module PID TEMPS1. If PID indicates 199°F (93°C), go to next step. If PID does not indicate 199°F (93°C), check connectors for loose and corroded pins. If all connections are clean and tight, clear DTCs. Using NGS tester, perform NGV module self-test. If DTC B1225 is retrieved again, replace NGV module.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect fuel tank temperature sensor harness connector C351 (located on left center of vehicle, on fuel tank). Disconnect NGV module harness connector C1012. Install 60-pin Breakout Box (014-00322) following manufacturer's instructions. Measure resistance between breakout box pins No. 40 or 60 and pin No. 47. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Orange/Light Green wire between fuel tank temperature sensor, in-line connector C100 (located at left rear of engine compartment, below engine access cover) and NGV module.
- Measure resistance between breakout box pins No. 46 and 47. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace fuel tank temperature sensor. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short between Orange/Light Green and Gray/Red wires. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
