Removal (Left Side)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. On 2.5L engine, remove engine covers. On all models, install Engine Support Bar (D88L-6000-A) and support engine. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel assembly.
- On 2.0L engine, remove rear engine mount center bolt. On 2.5L engine, remove rear engine mount. Remove rear transmission mounting bracket.
- On all models, remove front engine mount. Lower vehicle. On 2.5L engine, mark position of right engine mount. Remove 3 right engine mount-to-engine bolts. Remove one right engine mount-to-body nut.
- On 2.0L engine, mark position of right engine mount. Remove 3 right engine mount-to-engine bolts. Remove coolant expansion tank. Remove 3 right engine mount-to-body bolts. On all models, hold strut shaft with 8-mm Allen wrench, and loosen top retaining nut 5 turns.
- Raise vehicle. Remove ball joint-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt. Separate control arm ball joints from steering knuckle. DO NOT damage ball joint seal. Remove pinch bolt attaching steering knuckle to strut. Slide steering knuckle up on strut. Move transaxle to gain excess to control arm nuts and bolts. Remove 2 nuts and bolts attaching control arm to subframe. Lifting up on control am, remove control arm.
