Tie Rod Ends: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Loosen tie-rod end locknut and remove the retaining nut. See Figure.
- Using a Ball Joint Separator TOOL-3290-D (211-001), release the tie-rod end from wheel knuckle. See Figure.
- Remove the tie-rod end and tie-rod end locknut. See Figure.
CAUTION:
When the tie-rod end is separated from the wheel knuckle the ball joint should be protected to prevent damage.
NOTE:
Make a note of the number of turns required to remove the tie-rod end.
