Tie Rod Ends: Installation

NOTE: Make sure the tie-rod end is secured by the same number of turns used to remove it. Install a NEW retaining nut.
  1. Install tie-rod end and locknut. See Fig 3. Tighten both tie-rod end and locknut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Check toe adjustment. For 1998-99 models, see SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES - CARS article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT. For 2000 models, see SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES - CARS article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
