Removal & Installation Contour

  1. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Leave negative battery cable disconnected. Working from left corner first, pry clock from instrument panel. Disconnect electrical connector and remove clock.
  2. Remove screw covers and 5 screws and lower instrument panel (knee bolster). Remove 2 lower headlight switch retaining screws. Release retaining clips and remove headlight switch and panel. Push rear window defogger switch panel out from behind. Disconnect electrical connector and remove rear window defogger switch and panel.
  3. Remove 2 screws from top of instrument cluster bezel. Remove 3 screw covers and screws from bottom of instrument cluster bezel. Pull instrument cluster bezel out and disconnect electrical connectors. Remove instrument cluster bezel.
  4. Remove 5 instrument cluster mounting screws. Pull instrument cluster out and disconnect electrical connectors. Remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Ensure proper system function. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
