Removal & Installation Manual Transaxle
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Unscrew and remove shift lever knob. Remove spring, spacer and reverse selector. Remove shift lever boot. Move front seats forward to allow access to rear console retaining screws. Remove rear console retaining screws (one on each side).
- Apply parking brake. Disengage locating pegs at front of rear console and remove rear console. Remove front console retaining screws (2 on each side). Position shift lever in second or fourth gear position. Lift out cup holders. Slide console to left to disengage. Raise and pull front console rearward. Disconnect lighter electrical connector and remove front console. To install reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
