Removal & Installation Automatic Transaxle

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Move front seats forward to allow access to rear console retaining screws. Remove rear console retaining screws (one on each side). Apply parking brake.
  2. Pry up on shift indicator selector bezel. Lift back of rear of console and disengage rear console front retaining clips. Feed indicator bezel through opening in console and remove rear console.
  3. Remove front console retaining screws (2 on each side). Position shift lever in "1" position. Pull front console rearward. Disconnect lighter electrical connector and remove front console. To install reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
