Removal & Installation (Escape)

- Disconnect battery ground cable. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE & FUEL LINE CONNECTIONS . Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor, Idle Air Control (IAC) electrical connector, main engine control sensor wiring, and Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Disconnect vacuum lines from brake boost and intake manifold. Disconnect Knock Sensor (KS) connector. Lower vehicle. Remove generator, and set aside. Remove intake manifold.
- To install, clean gasket mating surfaces. Position NEW gasket on intake manifold. Install and tighten bolts/nuts in proper sequence to specification. See Fig 1. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
