Equipment Hookup

Apply parking brake, and place shift lever in Park position. Block drive wheels. Turn off all electrical accessories. Connect appropriate test equipment to vehicle as follows:
- New Generation STAR Tester
Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect adapter cable lead to NGS tester. See Fig 1. Connect service connectors of adapter cable to DLC located below instrument panel, to right of steering column. Go to KEY ON ENGINE OFF SELF-TEST . - Generic Scan Tool
Ensure scan tool meets or exceeds OBD-II standard. Follow manufacturer's instructions to hook up equipment and record DTCs.
